Cyber Security 201: From Personal Habits to Organisational Discipline

101 gives you what to do. 201 gives you how to decide what to do — then how to make it outlast you. For a business that now has employees, systems, suppliers, and customers who ask.

01 — Overview

Overview

The first course gave you a list: enable two-factor, update, back up. That is enough for a business run by one or two people. Then employees arrive, and systems, and suppliers who reach your data, and a larger customer starts asking about your protection — and the list expires.

Because a list answers “what do I do?” and not the question you now face: “what is worth my effort specifically?” This course answers that one, with a risk register, a threat model, roles instead of people, network segmentation, supplier control, detection, tested continuity, and governance.

It says plainly on its first page that it assumes the 101 basics and does not repeat them — and tells an unprepared reader to stop and do those first. And its output doubles as the answer to a larger customer’s security questions: documents rather than assertions.

02 — What you will learn

What you will learn

Build a risk register and estimate likelihood and impact without guessing — and when accepting a risk is the right call

The five-routes exercise: the easiest paths to your crown jewel are usually stopped by nothing

Permission to the role rather than the person, and the separate administrative account you never open email from

Network segmentation so a compromised camera never reaches the point of sale

Supplier risk you cannot see — and the notification clause that makes it visible

Detection: the six alerts worth setting, and why most businesses hear it from a customer first

The backup that survives ransomware, and the tabletop exercise whose output is your list of gaps

Four one-page policies, a decision log, and answering a customer security questionnaire

06 — Questions, answered

Questions, answered

Do I need to have taken 101 first?

Not the course, but its basics: two-factor on your accounts, a password manager, updates, and a backup whose restore you have tested. Lesson one says so plainly and tells you to stop and do those first if you have not — because 201 assumes them and does not repeat them. If you already have them from elsewhere, you are ready.

Is this too big for a small business?

It is written for a business of roughly five to fifty people, and almost none of it needs tools or budget — it is method and discipline. The threat modelling exercise takes an hour with a sheet of paper, and its usual result is that the most dangerous routes close with free measures.

How does it differ from the account protection course?

That one goes deep on the accounts your business runs on — WhatsApp, Instagram, email. This one is about the business as a whole: risk method, roles, network, suppliers, detection, continuity and governance. They do not overlap; each answers a different question.

How do I pay and get access?

There is no online payment on this site. Send the request form, I contact you personally, we arrange payment (cash or local transfer), then you get a one-time activation code for one device with lifetime access.
