WhatsApp and Conversation Ads: From the Click to the Order

An advert ending on a page, you measure. An advert ending in a conversation, you do not.

Lesson 1 / 8

The Click That Ends in a Conversation

By the end of this lesson you will be able to:

An advert ending on a page, you measure.

An advert ending in a conversation, you do not measureyou run it.

And that difference changes everything after it.

The rule

A click that ends in a conversation is not measured — it is run.

A page works on its own ← **it opens at any hour, says the same thing to every visitor, and does not get

tired**.

A conversation does not work on its own ← **it needs a person, a reply within a reasonable time, and a

consistent answer**.

And the result: the advert here does not buy a visitit buys work somebody has to do.

And whoever buys work without preparing who does itis buying a backlog.

Who this course is for

It is for you if you have enough volume for replying to become an operation:

more messages than you hold in your heador more than one person replying ← **or you intend to

advertise on a channel that ends in conversation with a regular budget**.

And it is not for you if you sell from your account alone, your messages are few, and you reply yourself

your need is a habit, not a systemand it is in "Instagram Advertising", lesson four: **reply

time, the price answer, saved replies, following up, and a three-column log**.

And the difference between the two courses is not the platformit is the scale: **that one teaches

you to reply well, and this teaches you that replies happen well while you are not there**.

What exactly you are buying

Three moments separate your advert from the money:

1. The clickwhich you buy.

2. The conversationwhich starts if your entry is clear (lesson two).

3. The replywhich decides the rest (three).

And most waste falls between the second and the third ← **conversations that started and nobody

answered, or that were answered two days later**.

And this is not an advertising problemit is an operations problem.

When not to advertise on a conversation channel

Four explicit cases:

1. Nobody replies during your working hoursthe advert buys you anger.

2. Your answer differs depending on who replies ← **the buyer compares what they heard against what

someone else heard, and finds the difference**.

3. Your product is bought without askinga clear item at a visible price ← **so the conversation

adds friction for no reason, and your destination is the purchase page**.

4. You have no written policy for what is and is not said ← **so you delegate your reputation to whoever

does not know the limits** (lesson five).

And the third is the one people resistbecause a conversation looks "closer to the customer"

and is sometimes a barrier added between the buyer and the buy button.

A limit never crossed — said at the start rather than the end

Do not message whoever did not consent.

A conversation is a personal channel ← **and an unrequested message in it weighs as much as an

unrequested message in a personal app weighs**.

And three things are never done, with no exception:

1. Do not buy lists of numbershowever normal that looks around you.

2. Do not message whoever once talked to you about something else ← **contact about an order is not

consent to marketing**.

3. Do not make leaving difficultwhoever asks you to stop, you stop, the first time.

**And the detail — how consent is taken, how it is documented, and a person's right to withdraw — is in the

"Personal Data Protection" bookwhich governs this whole course**.

What this course does not do

I will not explain the interface buttons or name an application. **Applications change, and their

policies change fasterand what does not change is that a conversation needs a clear entry, a reply

within a time, a consistent answer, and a limit never crossed**.

And I will not state an amount or a rate.

And I will not promise you conversation sells moreit sells differently: **slower per person,

sometimes higher in value, and always heavier to operate**.

Action steps

  1. Write the rule: a click that ends in a conversation is run, not measured.
  2. Decide: is this your course? ← if you reply alone, the Instagram course is enough.
  3. Write the three moments and where you lose most.
  4. Open your conversations and count how many were never answered.
  5. Go through the four cases where you do not advertise here.
  6. Ask honestly: is my product bought without asking?
  7. Do not message whoever did not consent — and do not buy a list.
  8. Read the consent limits in the "Personal Data Protection" book.
